An Evening of Wine and Art in Osijek
It was a good opportunity to taste various wines in one place, from various winemakers, and the best part is that winemakers pour their own wine
An Evening of Wine and Art was held on Friday, May 12th, in the garden of the Kazamat Gallery, in the historical Osijek town core – the Tvrđa. This manifestation brought together renowned winemakers such as Gerštmajer, Buhač, Kolar, Brzica, Svijetli Dvori Winery and so on, but also some winemakers who have a bright future ahead of them, such as Kolembus from Našice and Katavić from Zoljan.
Present was also the Tonković heritage winery from Bački vineyards in Serbia with their phenomenal wines based on Kadarka; Fantazija and Rapsodija. This winery was founded ten years ago with a mission to revitalise the old Pannonian variety Kadarka. Very high yield, thick grapes and thin skin make Kadarka very susceptible to disease, so it was replaced in the region after World War II by more resistant varieties. But Kadarka gives specific, impressive wines and it is fortunate its revitalisation has begun.
The concept of the manifestation is simple – the glass deposit is twenty kuna and each decilitre of wine 4 kuna. It was a good opportunity to taste various wines in one place, from various winemakers, and the best part is that winemakers pour their own wine, so you can talk to them on everything you want to know, first hand!
Visitors were entertained by the Trend Acoustic Band, Red Rooster and DJ on wine / Tac. Along with the music programme, there was the cultural one. In the regional wine store the photography exhibition “Atmosphere” was held and in the Kazamat Gallery the exhibition titled “Sifonija” took place. The Oksimoron association held a performance in three acts named “How Wine Seduced Love,” spiced with fragments from the cult book “The Philosophy of Wine” by Bela Hamvas.
